Gjilanasja, the first veterinary surgery in Kosovo

This is Mirlinda Cani from Gjilan, who in her town is known as one of the most ladylike veterinarians. In addition to this epithet, she is also considered one of the first animal surgeons in the country and that her work is more about operations on small animals.

Mirlinda, together with some of her colleagues, are already the owners of a clinic in the center of Gjilan, dealing precisely with the healing and treatment of animals.

Since she was little, Mirlinda enjoyed working with animals, but her father was the main push for her to study in the field of Veterinary Medicine.

She has a very close relationship with all her clients' animals, offering them warmth.

The veterinarian says that each of the owners must first have a comfortable and suitable environment for each animal they decide to take.

According to her, Kosovars mostly prefer to keep cats and dogs at home, but for Mirlinda, the love for these animals is the same for all of them.

It is not that common for a woman to be a veterinarian in Kosovo. Many prejudices have also found Mirlinda, but she has proven the opposite with her work.

Mirlinda otherwise has another profession and passion, she previously worked as a karate teacher, and she is also a great lover of nature and challenges herself with extreme hiking every weekend.
