The mistake of parents who give money to their children at school

It has become a common practice that children, in addition to the snacks they take to school, parents are also giving them pocket money.

During the learning process, when they have a break, they use the space to go outside the school building and make unnecessary purchases and even buy products that are not allowed for their age.

But for psychologists, it is a parents' mistake to fulfill all the wishes of children, especially giving them money.

The psychologist, Naile Rrustolli-Hoxha, says that parents should teach children about saving, and one more reason for them not to have money at school is due to the creation of equality between children in a class.

According to her, parents cannot know how their children's money is being spent when they are unaccompanied by an adult at school.

A concern of recent times is the consumption of energy drinks by children, and that most often this phenomenon occurs when they are released after school and use the money offered by their parents to buy them, says Salie Gajtani Osmankaq from the Council of Parents.

If the children have the snacks with them, as well as the school materials they need for activities, parents make a mistake if they give their children money at school, says Osmankaq.

Osmankaq has never practiced giving money to school with her children.

And most banks in Kosovo offer savings accounts for children, while the CBK says it is engaged in financial education from childhood.
