During an hour-long discussion on the literary level, on Saturday at the Book Fair in Prishtina, Petro Marko as a multidimensional writer returned once again, highlighting the strengths of his pen, carved in the history of Albanian literature.
In Albanian culture and literature, the name of Petro Markos is the embodiment of a personality of great proportions in terms of his free expression in many literary genres. Entire pages of his prose and poems reflect the power of love, the triumph and belief in being free, considering that he himself was spared from it many times during his 78-year life. The importance of freedom through his masterpiece, Petro Marko (1913 - 1991) continues to inherit it between generations and with the masterpiece "Pirate's Cave".
Starting from this, the role of this personality has been honored within the activities of the 24th Book Fair. Through the "Albas" publishing house, it is intended to restore attention to the literary activity of Petro Markos - considered necessary for re-actualization by the panel composed of the poet Rita Petro, the researcher Behar Gjoka and the writer Ag Apolloni - through the enrichment of the column with the works of his. Titles such as "Lost City", "Night of Ustika", "Pirates' Cave", and "Ghost and the plan 'three plus four'" were presented in this promotion, but it was announced that these volumes will be enriched and Further. Marko's modernist prose and the breaking of the rules of the socialist realization methods, although his creativity was made in that period, were among the main points in this discussion.
Petro Marko, the researcher Behar Gjoka has rated him as one of the most important writers of Albanian literature. He said that this initiative of the "Albas" publishing house is a return and a revival of the author's merit in Albanian literature.
"Petro Markos, fallen for his sake, was the bridge connecting the literature of an old generation with the contemporary one and then made those novels that first honored Petro, but also all of us. As much as he was an Albanian writer, he was also a European writer", said Gjoka, referring to the military activity of Petro Markos in Spain.
Petro Marko has gathered many readers around him throughout his activity. He has always had an equally loyal audience in Kosovo.

According to the writer Ag Apolloni, Petro Marko is very dear to the readers in Kosovo.
"Petro Marko is very liked by the readers here. We have grown up with his works and especially here the works 'Pirates' Cave' and 'Hasta La Vista' have been loved. Even the first study of Petro Marko was done right here. He is among the writers who greatly developed the imagination of children, and I was one of those children. For me at that time, reading 'Pirates' Cave' was like seeing any Spielberg film", said Apolloni.
He estimated that Marko's work should be updated. He said that it is important to study further and to be placed in the deserved place.
"Petro Marko is one of the most important writers of modern and contemporary Albanian literature, but it is interesting how our researchers have left him within the margins even after the advent of democracy, they have not dealt with him much", added Apolloni.
The context on which the work of Petro Markos was brought to life is about trying times for the Albanian world. His life described in his books also highlights the threatening circumstances for the concept of freedom for Albanians under the communist regime.

During this promotion, the poet Rita Petro read some extracts from "Self Interview". Those lines were a reminder to the audience of the importance the author had given to the ideal of freedom.
"It seems that Petro Marko has always been fighting as an individual for freedom, his handcuffs have never been removed. But those shackles have never been able to shackle his mind, and this is exactly the essence of his work", said Petro, among other things, referring to this work as one of the most honest autobiographies.
"Eternal lover of the motherland", the researcher Behar Gjoka described Marko.
"For me, Petro Marko in his work is the fate of the man that the time in which he wrote was insufficient for him. His work must have a second moment, so now we have the opportunity without thinking about how Petro Marko will receive it, to say what he wrote in poetry, prose and drama. He was an emigrant and an eternal dreamer, above all he is the man who designed his freedom, the freedom of everyone and gave us a model of how we can be free", were the words with which Gjoka chose to remember the figure of the writer.
The high aesthetic awareness of the pen of Petro Markos did not leave without being potentiated. It was highlighted how he did not drive the real commitments of society in his works. He conveyed the messages while remaining faithful to the aesthetic part of literature.

"Petro Marko's couples in love are extraordinary, I don't know why a couple in Petro Marko is so special. He treats love as something not only personal, but as a feeling that crosses any kind of border, especially those with nationality", added the poet Rita Petro.
