Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Serbia for the first time on August 8.
The announcement from the Presidency of Serbia announced that Zelensky will be received by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
Meanwhile, as the AFP agency wrote, a senior Ukrainian official described this visit as a "symbolic attack" on Moscow.
Serbia is already known to have a pro-Russian stance. It has refused to join initiatives to sanction Russia after the war in Ukraine began. However, Serbian leaders have publicly stated that they “recognize Russian territorial integrity.”
Zelensky was also announced to visit Serbia in May, but at that time, Prime Minister Taras Kaçka visited Belgrade.
