Trupi i kriminelit të dënuar të luftës Ratko Mlladiq është pritur me nderime të larta ushtarake në Beograd të enjten.
Në aeroplanin me të cilin trupi i Mlladiqit u soll nga Haga ishte djali i tij Darko Mlladiq, mbesa e tij dhe ministri serb i Drejtësisë, Nenad Vujiq, shkruan "RTS".
Mlladiq vdiq më 27 gusht në Hagë në moshën 84-vjeçare, ku po vuante dënimin me burgim të përjetshëm për krime lufte në Bosnjë, përfshirë përgjegjësinë për masakrën e Srebrenicës.
Ai njihej ndryshe si “Kasapi i Bosnjës”.
Serbia ka caktuar mbledhje komemorative më 5 shtator, ndërsa varrimi do të bëhet më 7 shtator.
The European Commission announced on Friday that it is up to Serbian authorities to decide what role they will play in the funeral of war criminal Ratko Mladic, but also stressed that glorifying war criminals is contrary to the most fundamental European values and has no place in the Union or in candidate countries.
"The European Commission believes that any glorification of war criminals is contrary to the most fundamental European values and has no place in the EU or in EU candidate countries," the European Commission said in a response to REL.

"If Ratko Mladic is buried in Serbia, it is up to the Serbian authorities to confirm any role they may have had in the organisation or actual burial of Ratko Mladic," the EC further said.
The Bosniak National Council condemned, in a statement on August 29, the announcement of Mladic's burial with state honors, saying the state was sending a "dangerous message" to Bosniaks.

In a press release, the OVL-UCK condemned Serbia's actions regarding state honors for Mladic.
"We strongly condemn Serbia's shameful attempt to glorify Ratko Mladic and turn his burial into an act of state honor. Crowning a convicted war criminal as a national hero insults every one of his victims and openly rehabilitates the ideology that produced genocide. Belgrade once again refuses to face its criminal past. On the contrary, it continues to nurture the same ideology that caused massacres, deportations and mass graves. This behavior directly threatens regional peace. The memory and dignity of the victims are not negotiable. Not now, not ever," the KLA's OVL response states.
