Citizens have gathered in downtown Skopje to demand justice for the 59 victims who died in a fire at a discotheque in Kocani.

Protesters have called for an end to corruption, which they say is behind the tragedy that rocked North Macedonia, Reuters reported.

The rally began with 16 minutes of silence in honor of the victims of the event that occurred on March 16.

On Monday, March 18, many citizens of Kocani in North Macedonia took to the streets of the city to demand justice. Some held banners that read: "We are not dying from accidents, we are dying from corruption" and "everything is legal here if you have connections."
