Thousands of citizens gathered in the streets of Belgrade on Friday evening to welcome students arriving on foot from all over the country, ahead of the large protest that will take place on Saturday.

Students, who have been blocking faculties across Serbia for more than three months, have announced the "biggest protest ever" on March 15th.

They are seeking state responsibility for the deaths of 15 people on November 1st when a shelter collapsed at a railway station in Novi Sad.

And near the Serbian Presidency, a camp has been set up by a group opposing the blockades of faculties. This group has been in place since March 6. They call themselves “students who want to learn,” but as the media in Serbia have reported, there are elderly people and even former members of the infamous Serbian army unit “Red Berets” present there. This camp is being considered a "shield" for Vučić ahead of the protest announced for March 15 by students.
