In Croatia, there have been calls for a boycott of shops, retail chains and gas stations due to continued price increases.

The boycott initiative was started by a Facebook group that was later supported by consumer protection companies, unions, political parties, and even the Minister of Economy.

"On January 24th, there is a boycott in Croatia against high prices. People are asked not to buy anything that day, nothing. Secure yourself for that day as if it were Sunday," the message calling for the boycott reads.

Croatian media outlet "Index" published images of several bars, shops, and bakeries in Zagreb on Friday morning, which are seen almost empty of people.
