Longtime Russian journalist Alexey Zimin was found dead in his Belgrade apartment on Wednesday. According to "Novosti" information, his aorta was ruptured, which caused internal bleeding.
He had been ill with his liver for some time.
He was found lying on the floor and there were no signs of violence on his body.
After pressure in Russia for his anti-war views, Zimin moved to Belgrade, where he lived in a rented apartment.
According to media reports in Serbia, Zimin was found seven days after he died. The alarm was given by the owner of the apartment, who could not contact him.
Zimin was a great opponent of the war in Ukraine, therefore he suffered severe pressure and threats from the Russian authorities.
In addition to being a journalist, Zimini has hosted several TV shows and worked as a chef and also had his own restaurant. However, after releasing a video with an anti-war song, his Russian TV show "Cooking with Alexei Zimin" was abruptly canceled.
