Afrim Gashi - Speaker of the Parliament of North Macedonia

Afrim Gashi has been elected Speaker of the Assembly of North Macedonia. 

With 76 votes in favor, 6 against and no abstentions, Gashi from the VLEN coalition was elected Speaker.

Through a post on Facebook, Gashi thanked everyone for their support.
"We continue to fulfill our obligations to the citizens", he wrote.

The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjuifca, congratulated Gashi.

"It will be a great pleasure to work together, to deepen the cooperation between our countries, including that of our parliamentary institutions. I look forward to starting work to advance our common interests as much as possible, to jointly contribute to sustainable regional stability and Euro-Atlantic goals. I expect that the relations between our institutions will be further consolidated", wrote Konjufca. "I wish that democratic laws, practices and culture bring us even closer as a vision for a more promising future for both our countries", said Konjufca.

President Vjosa Osmani also congratulated Gashi.

"Congratulations to the newly elected Speaker of the Assembly of North Macedonia, Mr. Afrim Gashi. The Albanians of North Macedonia have played a key role in the formation and state-building of North Macedonia, while today they are key contributors to its European perspective. Our countries enjoy excellent neighborly relations, based on mutual respect, friendship and cooperation. I wish Mayor Gashi much success in this important position!", she wrote in "X".
