France has won the gold medal in the volleyball tournament at the Olympic Games in Paris.
On Saturday, France defeated Poland 3:0 in sets in the final. The match was very strong, but dominated by the French.
The first set ended 25:19, while the difference in the second set was five points. 25:20.
In the third set, France broke away 24:19, but the Poles did not give up and came close at 24:23. However, the last serve was lost by Poland's best player and thus the Olympic gold went to the hosts.
France defended the Olympic title won in Tokyo three years ago.
The bronze medal among volleyball players was won by the USA, which won 3:0 in sets against Italy on Friday.
