Athletes from Kenya were again defeated by Soufiane El Bakkali in the 3000 meters steeplechase race, in the final held at the Olympic Games "Paris 2024", on Wednesday night.
The athlete from Morocco defended the title he won three years ago in "Tokyo 2020".
He finished the race in 8:06.05, ahead of Kenneth Rooks of the United States and Kenya's Abraham Kibiwot.
El Bakkali was behind for most of the race but didn't give up, passed Rooks and came out on top to defend his Olympic title.
Rooks, who won silver, had his best time.
