Olympic gold medalist Thomas Ceccon has been spotted sleeping in a Paris park after complaining about conditions in the Olympic village, writes the Daily Mail.

The Italian swimmer, Ceccon, won gold in the 100-meter backstroke, while saying "it is difficult to sleep at night and in the afternoon" in the Olympic village where most of the athletes are accommodated. Regarding the conditions in the village, there have been many complaints.

"There is no air conditioning in the village, it is hot, the food is bad", said the Italian.

"Many athletes leave for this reason. It's not an excuse, but it's a reality and not everyone knows it."

He has shown that at home he always sleeps in the afternoon, but it is impossible to do this in the Olympic village because of the noise and the heat.

Cecconi's appearance at the medal ceremony has gone viral on social networks. Meanwhile, the Saudi sportsman, Husein Alireza, saw Cecconi taking a nap on a towel in the park and posted the image on "Instagram".

He said that the Italian slept in a park in the Olympic village.

Other well-known athletes have also complained about the conditions in the Olympic village.
