Director Mirak Zymberaj was invited to the show "Nëpër Film", to reveal details about the new short film, "Thirrja". This project starts its journey at the International Short Film Festival "In the Palace" in Bulgaria, which is ranked among the qualifying festivals for the "Oscar".
The narrative in the film brings a random conflict between two brothers that ends tragically. While they are fixing their father's grave, the younger brother (Miran Zymberaj) kills his older brother (Art Pasha) after a fight, accusing him of embezzling his late father's inheritance. The witness of the event is the gravedigger (Mentor Zymberaj) who sees them from afar. When they approach the crime scene, they find the revolver on the ground. The events become even more dramatic when the mother of the two boys (Albina Osmani) arrives. She finds the undertaker with her husband's revolver in his hand. The scene makes her suspect that the gravedigger has killed her sons and kills the latter believing that he has a hand in their disappearance.
"The Call" competes in the main category of the "In the Palace" International Film Festival, which this year holds its 21st edition from June 29 to July 6. Also, during 2024, the director hopes to show the film in Kosovo as well.
Among other things, Mirak Zymberaj has shown that he plans for his next film to be a feature-length film. There will also be cooperation with the well-known father, actor, screenwriter and producer, Mentor Zymberaj.
