Facts about the world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa

Last year, the Leaning Tower of Pisa marked its 850th anniversary.

This landmark in central Italy is very famous for one reason only: its steepness.

The tower dates from August 1173, and its shape depends on the relief where and how it was placed, writes "leaningtowerpisa".

Due to the insufficient foundation on the ground, when the tower was built, it began to take on a different shape, and its slope kept increasing, until the beginning of the XXI century. Her form was moving, but because of the good material that had been used during the work, it had not fallen.

Its height is 55.86 meters and it has 294 steps.

It is on the UNESCO list as a protected object and in 2001 it was said that according to its base and shape, the Leaning Tower of Pisa will be able to stand for nearly 300 years.
