On April 13 in Germany, Kosovar boxer Granit Shala will fight with Ukrainian Oleksandr Zakhozhyi for the title of Europe, EBU, in the heavy category in professional boxing.

For the 27-year-old Shala, who developed his career in Germany, it will be the biggest match in his career.

He has played 15 matches so far and won all of them, five of them by stoppage.

Shala, who is part of the Fight Power Academy club in Germany, is currently in the preparatory phase in Spain.

Shala, 192 centimeters tall, will face a 14 centimeters taller boxer. The Ukrainian Zakhozhyi is undefeated in 18 fights, while he won 14 of them by knockout.

In Spain, the 27-year-old sparred with the giant Polish boxer Mariusz Wach (202 centimeters), who had also boxed for the world title with Wladimir Klitschko in 2012.

"Preparations are going very well. I'm very motivated and I'm looking forward to appearing in the ring", Shala said to KOHEN.

He will continue the preparation phase in Germany, where he will also spar with the British  tall Nick Campbell.

Shala's coach and manager, Agron Kurtishi, said that they aim to win the European title, which would be a big step for Shala to bigger matches.

Kurtishi has shown that it was quite challenging until Shala's opponent for the European title was determined.

Daniel Dietz, Tom Schwarz, Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce among others were mentioned as options. But they refused the confrontation.

"Several opponents have been changed and the preparatory phase has not been easy. However, we are preparing and aim for the title on April 13", said Kurtishi.
