Distria Krasniqi has won the silver medal at the Grand Prix Upper Austria judo competition. On Friday in Linz, Distria competed in the 52 kilogram category, losing in the final to Japan's Iroha Oi.

This is the next medal for the 29-year-old judoka, who already has a gold medal and an Olympic silver medal.

Distria was the first seed and did not allow for surprises until the final.

In the final, however, she was surprised. Distria started furiously and demanded the throw in two actions. She even came close to the throw. On her third attempt, the Japanese Oi counterattacked for the victory with Ippon.

Oi is a former junior and cadet world champion and one of the top Japanese judokas of the new generation.

Distria was free in the first round. In the second, she defeated American Jenna Schurr. She achieved Ippon against her in 1:34 minutes.

She defeated Serbian Nikolina Nishaviq even faster in the quarterfinals. She made a beautiful throw against her after just 29 seconds.

In the semifinals, Distria defeated the experienced Hungarian, Reka Pupp. She won against her by knockout. She completely controlled the fight. With Pupp, Distria now has eight wins and one loss.

With the silver, Distria earned 490 points in the world rankings.
