List clearing is approaching

And it is precisely those who call themselves "guardians of families" who refuse to vote for both the Civil Code and the Law on medically assisted fertilization. So, the failure of this law leaves in force an administrative instruction that allows this opportunity to private institutions, but not to the public sector. So, it is a process that cannot be stopped, despite the boycott of Eman Rrahman together with his brothers and sisters in VV and in the opposition parties, who refuse to vote for a law that would enable couples or even women, regardless of make children And this in the decade when Kosovo suffers a decline in the birth rate - if this detail has any significance for them

What a week!

The 16th anniversary of Independence was celebrated with the most beautiful spontaneous party that the citizens themselves could organize and with a plenary session of the Assembly in which almost half of the deputies did not participate.

It was a shame to see how foreign diplomats showed more honors for Kosovo's great day than the "people's representatives". They likely lacked the motivation of the signing to take him a day. Their action is a big deal, and for us voters, maybe it's a signal that new elections can be held this year.

A 4-year-old girl, a member of the minority community, fell ill in Gjakova, was reportedly treated, and after being transferred to KKUK, died. While the parents stated that they suspected that the cause of death was the beating, the KKUK communicated that the girl had arrived at the Pediatric Clinic with sepsis. This case is being investigated by the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Gjakovë as a "death investigation" and by the prosecutor's decision, the dead body of the girl was sent to the IML for an autopsy. Whether there was negligence or not, the prosecution would have to show. But that the whole case created a debate about the discrimination that is done especially to the members of the RAE communities, there is no doubt.

The RAE community carries discrimination on its shoulders, perhaps since it has existed. As long as I can remember, Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians have always been treated as second-class people. So, even after more than half a century, much in their lives remains unchanged.

From Brussels came the warning for a meeting between negotiators to discuss the issue of the banned dinar in Kosovo. In a reaction full of bitterness, Besnik Bislimi returned to Lajçak, telling him that he was scheduling the meetings on his own, without consulting the parties or the topics of discussion. He declared that he would not go to Brussels.

The next day, Borrell's spokesman came out and reprimanded Bislim - mind you, he's in elementary school, and as a strict teacher he can raise his ears to an unruly student.

He said that the invitation was made after Borrelli had met separately with Kurti and Vučić in Munich and that it did not determine the representative of either country, "leaving it up to the party to decide who will be invited to the meeting". Stano concluded by saying: "We hope that Mr. Bislimi will appreciate the efforts, instead of baselessly accusing the EU officials. Such behavior is unacceptable."

From Stanos, for example, we did not hear a statement about the unacceptable behavior of his bosses to a fact that Marc Weller tells us for the third time: "It was the EU mediators who suddenly broke this agreement at the moment when Kosovo was ready to accept it. Both sides had emphasized in the meeting held on February 27 last year in Brussels that they had agreed with the formulation of a new basic agreement according to the German model. At the next meeting, in Ohrid, on March 18, 2023, the parties were to formally approve the Basic Agreement and the Implementation Annex, possibly followed by a formal signing conference to be held in Paris. However, from the beginning of the Ohrid meeting, Serbia declared that it would not sign anything with Kosovo under any circumstances.

Instead of insisting on signing and putting pressure on Serbia with this goal in mind, as Kosovo had expected, the EU simply accepted this request. The interlocutors from the EU found a way to declare that Serbia had at least approved the text in relation to the EU. Serbia, therefore, could insist that it had not agreed on anything in relation to Kosovo. Moreover, instead of admitting that the treaties should be respected in their entirety, President Vučić warned that he would choose which of the alleged obligations he would implement, if they existed. Kosovo, on the other hand, would have to first fulfill the issue of the Association/Community".

So, in a process where, it is evident, there is no impartiality, defending the position that the issue of the dinar is not a matter that should be discussed in Brussels, is not unacceptable behavior. It is a sovereign decision, albeit with a few complications due to lack of warning and preparations, but necessary for the fight against crime and smuggling that has been tolerated by the EU for over two decades.

* * *

And despite the fact that everyone agrees that this step is legitimate, there is still pressure to suspend the decision. It is evident the attempt of President Osmani to get involved in this matter now, by meeting with Hovenieri and giving statements on the subject. It is clear that they are trying to keep the side of calm, and not of irritation, that in the case of the dinar it seems to be caused by bitterness due to the ignorance that was done to the representatives of the Five, and especially the American, for a decision, however, sovereign . And despite the fact that it could have been managed better than that.

Meanwhile, videos circulated from Kopaonik, where Radojçiqi was celebrating his birthday with firecrackers, fireworks and a banner that read "Congratulations Commander". So, the location of the chief terrorist is known and he could be arrested at any moment if his boss, Vuçiqi, under whose command he operated in Kosovo, wanted to. But no. His birthday is celebrated and he is exalted as a hero, commander (of terrorist units, no doubt) and what not, while Kosovo still remains under EU sanctions, due to "non-cooperation".

And we remind you: the cooperation that was required from Kosovo then, was the withdrawal of special units. To those who dismantled Radojciq and his terrorists in Banjska.

Now, why these people were allowed to leave is another matter and one for which I hardly believe we will ever get an answer. Just as the wait for the report on Banjska seems endless, where those responsible for the terrorist attack should be determined.

Even after five months, there is no indication of the content of the report to be drawn up. The chances are that it will never be drafted, because the European elections are knocking. Now everyone is preoccupied with their future mandates and positions - why bother about the Banjska of "non-cooperative Kosovo"?

* * *

And the elections seem to be knocking at our doors as well. There are polls, credible or not; there are calls from the opposition for the overthrow of the government by elections and there may be calculations by the government to choose the most suitable time for elections, with the certainty that the support may be there because of the achievements in the north, more than anything else this government does has performed in these three years of power.

We already have the creation of coalitions of parties that risk not crossing the threshold with parties that do not cross the threshold and with a newly created entity that calls itself Conservative Democracy and whose main goal is "strengthening family values in society".

And it is precisely those who call themselves "guardians of families" who refuse to vote for both the Civil Code and the Law on medically assisted fertilization. So, the failure of this law leaves in force an administrative instruction that allows this opportunity to private institutions, but not to the public sector. So, it is a process that cannot be stopped, despite the boycott of Eman Rrahman together with his brothers and sisters in VV and in the opposition parties, who refuse to vote for a law that would enable couples or even women, regardless of make children And this in the decade when Kosovo suffers a decline in the birth rate - if this detail has any significance for them.

"Laws like this one today that can lead to father-daughter, brother-sister marriages... will NEVER be supported!", was MP Rrahmani's status on FB yesterday. This sentence itself, with all the linguistic error, shows that this man does not even understand what law he has in hand. Maybe someone should explain to him that assisted fertilization is neither incest nor marriage.

But maybe even explaining it to him is useless, because this MP, together with his fellow MPs who support politics over religion, only know one definition of family: a heterosexual couple with children.

So all the families that come out of this definition are either a sin or illegal - regardless of the fact that this approach is a denial of an absolutely unimposed reality and of the individual's own choice of how he wants to live his intimate life.

* * *

Rrahmani makes the most of the opportunity that a declared leftist party has given to a bunch of dogmatists by putting them on election lists in search of the vote of religious followers. So, something that all political parties have done for the same reason, without taking into account the ideology they represent. Without taking into account the fact that religion and politics should be done separately in a secular state.

The avoidance of party discipline, no matter how much the Constitution defines the vote of the independent deputy, which has recently started to become more frequent, will soon bring us to the situation of a legislative blockade. Not that this Assembly can be praised for the work it has done, since in the last three years it has boycotted the works more than it has performed its duty, but nevertheless it brings the state into a blockade and dependent on the decisions of only the executive. And in these conditions, the elections seem to be the only option to get out of the dead end and to clear the lists from the manipulators who dominate this legislature.
