Archaeologists discovered more than 20 wooden coffins in the city of Luxor a few days ago.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, they were found near the Theban region on the banks of the Nile River, reports KJ.
There were two layers of coffins superimposed on each other and are even considered one of the most important discoveries in terms of Egyptian history and culture.
Further details will be given on Saturday at a conference where the coffins will be presented as the discovery of an ancient house site with furnishings and artefacts belonging to the 18th Dynasty, around 1550-1292 BC.
As for the coffins found near the "Valley of the Kings" belong to the early period of the years 664-332 before the birth of Christ.
They are even suspected to be coffins of ancient pharaohs such as Akhenaten, Tutankhamun and Thutmose.
