The skeleton of a large dinosaur has sold for $44.6 million at Sotheby's auction in New York, becoming the highest paid fossil ever.
The "stegosaurus" dinosaur known as "Apex" is the most complete skeleton found to date.
It was sold to an anonymous buyer who said: "Apex was born in America and will stay in America."
"Apex" was accidentally discovered in 2022 in the town with the same name as the dinosaur.
"'Apex' made history today by selling for $44.6 million at Sotheby's to become the most valuable fossil ever sold at auction," said Sotheby's.
