The Buddhist donates the $600,000 he won from poker to charity

Buddhism and poker games may seem like they have nothing in common, but for Scott Wellenbach they are very much connected to each other.

The poker player won third place in a poker tournament in the Bahamas and won $671,240.

He will donate all the money he won to charity, while he is considered by people as a "hero".

"Being a Buddhist practitioner, we sit and meditate a lot, it's free," he said.

When not playing poker, Wellenbach works as a translator of Buddhist, Tibetan and Sanskrit texts for a religious non-profit organization.

He became a part of Buddhism, looking for a way to deal with life's unhappiness./oranews
