The 70-year-old who holds the record for eating the most hamburgers in a lifetime

After eating 728 Big Mac hamburgers during 2023, Donald Gorske has become the person who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest time in his life.

His record now stands at a total of 34,128 such hamburgers.

The 70-year-old from Wisconsin ate his first Big Mac almost 52 years ago, on May 17, 1972.

"At that moment I said, 'I'm probably going to eat these hamburgers for the rest of my life.' I started counting cards from the first day", he said.

Gorske kept track of every hamburger eaten and still has their receipts.

He broke the Guinness World Record in 1999.

When he started eating Big Macs, Gorske could eat up to nine a day. Now he eats two: one for lunch and one for dinner.

Gorske eats nothing but hamburgers, and eats some ice cream, fruit or chips between meals.

Despite all these hamburgers that he has eaten all his life, he said that he has no health problems and that he walks every day to stay physically fit.

"Many believed I would be dead by now, but I actually hold the record for 24 years now - one of the longest Guinness World Record holders, so I'm happy," he added.
