After 12 days, the deer that got the plastic container stuck on its head is rescued

An Indiana deer that was seen wandering around with a plastic container stuck to its head for at least 12 days was rescued Thursday morning.

The Vermillion County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that the deer was first seen with its head stuck in a container in the northern part of the county on Feb. 10, but authorities were unable to get close enough to help it.

The deer was found again on Thursday morning and was seen to have managed to make a crack in the container large enough to allow him to eat and drink.

Rescuers worked together to safely remove the plastic container from the deer's head, the County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post.
