A 17-year-old girl from India has broken her own record as the teenager with the longest hair, more than a decade after she stopped cutting her hair after a bad experience at a curling salon.

Nilanshi Patel, from the city of Modasa, entered the Guinness Book of Records in December 2018 with a hair length of 170.5 centimeters, while now he has reached 190 to set the new record.

Her father has said that he is proud that his only child has become an international star. Patel said he hasn't visited a hairdresser in 11 years because of a bad experience.

"When I was 6 years old, I had a bad experience in a salon. Since then I am uncomfortable if I cut my hair. My parents understand my wishes and now this has become my fate", she told "AFP".

Patel is forced to wear high heels so that her hair does not touch the ground. To take care of them, she said that she does the same thing that all teenagers do.

Patel holds the record for the teenage girl with the longest hair, but not for all ages. This record is held by Xie Qiuping in China since 2004 when he measured his hair, it was 5 meters and 61 centimeters long.
