The Association of Road Transport of Travelers in the Basic Court of Pristina has filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Infrastructure to cancel the decision that some social categories pay 50 percent less for bus tickets.
Ruzhdi Kurtishaj, chairman of this association, said that they are forced to take this step, as he says that businesses are greatly damaged by this decision of the executive.
"Personally, I am sorry that today, on behalf of the Association, we have to speak here in front of the Court about a Government decision that really damages businesses," said Kurtishaj.
While, one of the operators, Jakup Berisha, has said that they will write to the ambassadors of the QUINT countries, since, according to him, the market economy is being violated.
"Today, not even a minute later, we will write to the QUINT embassies about how politics interferes in the free market, trying to direct the prices", declared Berisha.

Kurtishaj asked for the understanding of the citizens for this action.
On March 11, the Ministry of Infrastructure issued new prices where students, children, war invalids and workers, as well as pensioners pay a ticket 50 percent cheaper than the current price, while children under 6 years old do not pay at all.
For this, on Sunday the bus operators gathered in an emergency meeting where they gave a 72-hour ultimatum to the deputy minister, Hysen Durmishi, to cancel the decision.
On the contrary, they have warned of protests, which they say they have suspended until now.

After these developments, the Ministry of Infrastructure reacted, which says that it will supervise the implementation of this decision through legal mechanisms and instruments.
This institution says that it bases its decision on Article 22, paragraph 3, of the Law on Transport, which allows it to set prices for some categories.
