Eight of the ten arrested for the recent attacks in the north are at large

According to the Special Prosecutor's Office, 10 people have been arrested for the sabotage-terrorist attack on the "Ibër-Lepenci" canal. But currently only one suspect is in detention for 30 days and another in 48-hour detention. Others are free

Only 2 of the 10 people arrested by the police under suspicion of involvement in the terrorist attack on the "Ibër Lepenci" channel are under security measures.

According to the Special Prosecutor's Office, the arrests were made for various criminal offenses.

"On this occasion, 10 people suspected of criminal offenses were brought to the police station: 'Endangering the constitutional order by destroying or damaging public installations and equipment', from Article 122 related to the criminal offense 'Committing a terrorist offence', from Article 129 par. 1 and article 128 par 1, subpar. 1.8 of the KPRK, 'Unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons' from article 366, par 2 related to par. 1 of the KPRK", the Special Prosecutor's Office announced on Monday.

The last of this group was arrested on Sunday night and sent to 48-hour detention by order of the Prosecutor's Office.

"In continuation of the investigations related to the case of the terrorist attack on the critical infrastructure, but also previous cases, by the relevant investigative units, in cooperation with other police units, on 1.12.2024 in the evening hours, a suspect was arrested (JV), under the suspicion that he may have had an important role within the group responsible for the case of the terrorist attack against the critical infrastructure", the Police announcement states.

According to the Police, four hand grenades, a hunting rifle, a radio and a military uniform were found on the detained person with the initials JV.

Currently, only the DV suspect has been assigned a detention measure of 30 days.

His lawyer, Milosh Delević, after setting the measure of detention, said that his client is innocent.

"Dragisha Viçentijevic has been ordered to be detained for 30 days. He is suspected of having committed serious criminal acts, specifically of damaging the 'Ibër Lepenci' channel. However, why his wet and muddy boots were found cannot be sufficient evidence that he committed a serious crime. He was in a completely different place at the time. That place has been full of witnesses and I believe that during the investigation we will prove his innocence", Delević said.

As for the arrested DM, the prosecution did not ask the court to determine the measure of detention in the session held for Sunday.

"Given that the Special Prosecutor's Office has so far not requested that a measure of judicial detention be set for Dushan Milanovic from Leposaviqi, this gives the same hope that such a request will not even be made. As he was arrested yesterday at 9am, his detention of up to 48 hours, as determined by the police, expires at 9am tomorrow. I expect that the specialists of the Kosovo Police will keep their promise that they will perform the necessary medical-legal actions as soon as possible to prove the truth, namely that Dushan has nothing to do with the "Corridors" group on the Telegram network, and I expect that he will be released tomorrow . I hope it will be so", said lawyer Dejan Vasiq on Sunday.

The other detainees are free. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Special Prosecutor's Office have not provided information about the progress of the process against them.

After the November 29 attack on the "Ibër Lepenci" canal, which supplies water to several cities and the "Kosova B" thermal power plant, the police raided 10 locations in the north, confiscating a large number of weapons, ammunition and other equipment military.

After the action, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xelal Sveçla, said that eight people were arrested, including for the attack on the facility of the Municipality of Zveçan a few days ago.
