It has been five years since the Kosovo Serb politician, Oliver Ivanovic, was killed in front of his party's office in North Mitrovica. And this anniversary is marked by the return of accusations against the leadership of Serbia that it is hiding the facts about this act. Several indictments have been filed by the Special Prosecutor's Office for Ivanović's murder, and some suspects are still on the run.
The five-year anniversary of the murder of the Serbian politician Oliver Ivanovic has returned serious accusations to official Belgrade.
Former associates of Ivanovic and politicians have blamed the leadership of Serbia for not investigating the case.
Rada Trajović, politician and adviser in the Ministry for Communities and Returns, shared a quote from analyst Branislav Kërstić, where he hinted in the language of video games that the responsibility for hiding the facts of Ivanović's murder falls on the leadership in Belgrade.
"Had the state of Serbia at that moment, on the day of Oliver Ivanovic's murder, covered the roads in the north of Kosovo to the extent of 90 percent, while the joystick (the remote control of the game) is known where it was, in Belgrade. For this, the one who manages by remote control in Belgrade, of course, also has the footage of Oliver Ivanovic's hand," Trajkovic assessed.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has asked for the commitment of justice institutions, who through a video in which he spoke in Serbian, said that the murder of Ivanovic had consequences for the entire Kosovar society.

All those who commit a crime in Kosovo must be brought to justice, and I regret that the perpetrators and those who ordered this crime have not yet been brought to justice. The commitment of all relevant institutions is needed to find and punish those responsible for his murder. Oliver's murder affected the whole society. This crime killed not only Oliver Ivanovic, but also political pluralism among Serbs, Kurti said.
On Monday, from the place where the murder was committed, in North Mitrovica, Serbian politicians and friends of Ivanovic called for the investigation of the case.
"We have only one order from this country. We are interested in knowing after five years who killed Oliver Ivanovic, who ordered his murder, and we will not stop asking these questions", said the former deputy minister from Lista Serbe Ksenjija Božović.
While the vice-president of the National Party of Serbia, Miroslav Aleksic, said that the shots against "Oliver were actually shots against Serbia".
"To you who live here in Kosovo and shooting towards us who live in central Serbia. To make matters worse, even after five years it is not possible to understand the truth, who are the order givers and perpetrators of this act", he declared.
The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has also sought clarification of the case. He chose to do so from Belgrade's Sveti Sava Church, where he lit candles alongside Ivanovic's former partner Milena Popovic, who is now a member of Vucic's SNS party. Popović was recently appointed secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of Serbia.
As a witness, Popović has received over 20 invitations, according to the Basic Court in Prishtina, and despite having communicated, according to the judges, she has continuously delayed giving her testimony.

The main suspects for organizing the murder of Ivanovic are the vice president of the Serbian List, Milan Radoicic, the businessman rumored to be connected to the crime Zvonko Veselinovic, as well as the former head of the Police for the North, Zeljko Bojic. Silvana Arsović, Marko Rosić, Nedeljko Spasojević, Rade Basara, Zharko Jovanović and Dragisha Marković are already being tried in the indictment for Ivanović's case.
Oliver Ivanovic was killed on January 16, 2018, in front of the office of the party he led in North Mitrovica.
