"Cleanliness" workers in Ferizaj and Shtime are on strike, demanding better conditions

"Cleaning" workers in Ferizaj started a strike on Monday, with a request for a salary increase of around 50 euros and the compensation of pension contributions. According to Union representatives, the strike will continue until the demands are met. From the management of the enterprise they say that they have not received an official request from the workers.

The waste has been collected in this part in the center of the city of Ferizaj, and it is not known when it will be collected.

The strike is being held only by the workers of Ferizaj and Shtime, while those of Kaçanik are operating normally.

The head of the union, Mejhid Ramusa, said that the strike will continue until the demands are met.

"Two months ago, we warned the management because the Company has not paid the workers' pension contributions for more than 2 months, the low wages and illegal employment in the Administration have made us take these steps to strike," he stressed. Ramusa.

The workers of "Pastertia" refused to declare themselves, as they said that the management may take revenge on them.

"At that time, the request was 100 euros, in the negotiations we did not have the option of 100 euros. It has increased by 50 euros and by 1 euro for each worker, which means about 75 to 80 euros has been increased. In fact, their request has almost been fulfilled", declared Syla.

Municipal officials say that a certain deadline will be given to the management and if the issue of the strike is not considered, there will be measures.
