PDK contests 16 laws. According to the LVV, the opposition is afraid of the Asset Confiscation Bureau

The procedure in which 15 laws were approved, in the last meeting of the Assembly, has been contested in the Constitutional Court by the Democratic Party, while the content has also been contested in the Law on the Bureau for the Confiscation of Unjustified Assets. In Vetëvendosje, they said that the PDK is afraid of the Bureau and tries to delay its establishment.

The Democratic Party contested for the second time in the Constitutional Court the Law on the Office for the Confiscation of Unjustified Assets.

In addition to it, the largest opposition entity contested the approval procedure for 15 other laws that passed quickly within one day in the session of December 5, avoiding the deadlines set by the regulations.

The head of the Parliamentary Group of the PDK, Abelard Tahiri, said that the contestation of the procedure is being done in order not to create a precedent, while the Bureau for the reasons that it did not address the remarks of the Constitutional Court when it was overthrown the first time.

"In these sixteen draft laws, there are violations in the procedure, and in the law that I spoke about earlier, in the content. In terms of content, it is almost the same as the one that was overturned by the Constitutional Court, and we normally cannot compromise with such a case, and we submitted it to the Constitutional Court", said Tahiri.

Tahiri also commented on the government's statements that the PDK has a personal problem with the Bureau.

He said it will be done, but not unconstitutionally.

"There is no doubt that Kosovo needs it and it will have it with the Government of Bedri Hamza, but they are not interested in doing it", added Tahiri.

The PDK's actions were answered in a media conference by the head of Vetëvendosje deputies, Mimoza Kusari-Lila.

According to her, PDK's goal is to delay the establishment of the Bureau, to which she said they will not be able to justify the illegally acquired property.

"The 16 laws today that have been sent to the Constitutional Court have only one goal. The protection and extension of the time period from the implementation of the Law on the Bureau for confiscation of property... Behind every law sent to the Constitutional Court during these years, an interest of a figure or a group within this political subject is preserved", said Kusari-Lila.

Kusari stated that in the session of December 5, there was no legal violation neither in content nor in procedure.
