The opposition in Pristina dismisses the leader from the ranks of the LDK

Of the 33 assembly members who participated in the secret ballot, all votes were in favor of dismissing the chairman Pëllumb Bajqinovci. Assembly members of the Vetëvendosje Movement, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the New Kosovo Alliance took part in the vote. Those from the Democratic League of Kosovo, the ruling party, left the hall before the voting started.

The Chairman of the Municipal Assembly of Pristina, Pëllumb Bajqinovci, was dismissed from this position on Tuesday.

Of the 33 assemblymen who participated in the secret ballot, all votes were in favor of his dismissal.

Assembly members of the Vetëvendosje Movement, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the New Kosovo Alliance took part in the vote. Meanwhile, those of the Democratic League of Kosovo, the ruling party, left the hall before the voting started.

Together with the assembly members, Bajqinovci and the mayor of the municipality, Pëparim Rama, also left the extraordinary session.

Before the start of the voting, there were delays from the administration and the service of the Assembly for the delivery of the material for the secret ballot.

Bajqinovci was elected chairman in a meeting on June 27, after the dismissal of Fehmi Kupina.

Before the vote, the chairman Përparim Rama accused the assembly members of "usurpation of power".

"This is your policy to stop the projects. Now that Road A is being completed in record time, the construction of six schools and nurseries. Now when the city ring is in process. These are happening when the internationals are believing... now that I am coming back from Qatar and have taken the pledge for new projects. We are at a crossroads in the capital.... This is an attempt to seize power. They are trying to block the capital", said Rama.

Gëzim Sveçla, head of Vetëvendosje assemblymen and initiator of the session, said that Rama's departure is "his best appearance".

"We still do not have regular meetings, the chairman has not taken any action to unblock the Assembly. It has not been engaged. "Bajqinovci failed and did not perform well," he said.

The head of the PDK assemblymen, Leutrim Retkoceri, said that the current situation came "inevitably from Progress Rama".

"In his earlier speech, he did not respect the citizen, himself or his partner. It was the public interest that divided us. It was Badovci", he said. "Neither Progress nor Pëllumbi will keep the Assembly and the capital blocked."

The breakdown of the coalition in Pristina was done after the PDK assemblymen voted to cancel the decision to exchange municipal properties with former clients of the mayor Rama. In advance, Rama dismissed several PDK directors from their positions.

After that, President Rama appointed people from his party - LDK - to all directorates of the capital.
