The contingent of the Kosovo Security Force, a day after returning from the search and rescue mission in the areas hit by the earthquake in Turkey, has been decorated with presidential military medals. President Vjosa Osmani on Tuesday decorated the members of the Kosovo Security Force Contingent with presidential military medals for their service in the areas affected by the earthquake in Turkey.
She said that the KSF has honored the army and the state, being dedicated to helping and saving people's lives.
"This decoration is an appreciation for their tireless efforts and dedication to serve citizens regardless of affiliation, as well as for the protection, preservation and affirmation of our values. Dear soldiers, you have demonstrated the best of our army, so your work reflects the highest values of our nation", declared Osmani.
And the ambassador of Turkey in Kosovo, Sabri Tunç Angili, expressed gratitude for the help offered by Kosovo.
"We are grateful to you, Madam President, and to the Government of Kosovo, and we are also grateful to the people of Kosovo, who extended their hand and helped us in our difficult times, materially and morally. This act of support shows us once again that the fraternal and social relations between our countries are very strong, so thank you", said Angili.
The leader of the contingent, Captain Egzon Syla, told about the challenges that KSF members had during the search and rescue operation in the areas hit by the earthquake.

"The sacrifices our members made to save people's lives made us all feel good, especially me as the contingent commander. This has made me believe that whenever Kosovo needs, there are boys and girls who are able to sacrifice even the most precious thing for the motherland", said Syla.
After the earthquake that left more than 41 people dead, 39 KSF soldiers went to Turkey on a search and rescue mission on February 6, where they managed to pull out 4 survivors from the ruins.
The night before, Monday night, they returned to Kosovo. At Pristina Airport they were received by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj, and by the commander of the KSF, Bekim Jashari. The soldiers were awarded medals, as evidence of the attention and gratitude of the Government for the courage shown in the earthquake areas.
