Few were the citizens who frequented the capital's squares to mark November 28, the Independence Day of Albania.

The rainy weather dimmed their participation in the organizations that were prepared by the municipality for this day.

But the weather did not become an obstacle even for some visitors from Albania, who chose Pristina for dinner.

"Vlora is the heart of Albanianism and there are organizations in Vlora, but the organizations should be in Pristina and Skopje. Albanians should celebrate everywhere", said Krista Iziu, a citizen from Fieri.

For the Flag Festival, the Municipality of Pristina organized a concert in "Zahir Pajaziti" square, as well as unfurling the national flag.

The Mayor of the Municipality, Përparim Rama, in addition to the appreciation for prominent national figures, also highlighted the role of the new generations in representing Albanians across borders.

"Today we have great figures to be proud of. In addition to Skenderbeu, Isa Boletini, Adem Jashari, Adem Demaç and Ibrahim Rugova, various figures of our national heroes for years and centuries. Today we also have new figures, who make us proud, our youth and our future have icons", said Rama.

Besides Flag Day, Tuesday also marked the 26th anniversary of the Kosovo Liberation Army's first appearance in public. And for this occasion, this little girl took the oath of the KLA soldiers.

"As a member of the KLA, I swear that I will fight for the liberation of the occupied lands of Albania and their unification. I will always be loyal, a worthy freedom fighter, vigilant, courageous and disciplined, ready to fight at any time, without even sparing my life, to protect the sacred interests of the motherland. If I break this oath, let me be punished by the harshest laws of war, and if you betray, let my blood be lost. I swear," said Melika Osmani.

Apart from Pristina, various activities were organized in other municipalities. In the large park of Gjakova, the foundation stone was laid for the statue of the national hero, Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu.
