"Without a secure Kosovo, there can be neither a secure region nor a secure Europe. Albania will not accept nor tolerate the violation of the citizens of Kosovo and will always stand by Kosovo. The attack in Banjska and the Iber-Lepenc canal cannot be forgotten and accountability must be complete. I came here to clearly emphasize what Prime Minister Rama said: whoever touches Kosovo, touches Albania. Kosovo is an irreversible political reality. Anyone who thinks differently is dreaming with their eyes wide open," said Hoxha.

Hoxha was received in separate meetings by institutional and party leaders.

After meeting with his Kosovo counterpart, Glauk Konjufca, Hoxha emphasized that what happens in Kosovo is of great importance for Albania.

"We in Tirana, in Albania, will never say it enough: Kosovo is the absolute priority of our foreign policy. It is a clear and unchangeable dimension of the Albanian state. What happens in Kosovo has direct importance for Albania, in a mutual and inseparable connection, because the progress of the Republic of Kosovo and that of Albania go hand in hand. Every pain of Kosovo is felt in Albania, just as every achievement of Kosovo is celebrated in Albania," said Hoxha.

Konjufca called the meeting fraternal, saying that Euro-Atlantic integration and Western values are a strategic orientation of the Albanian nation, while Kosovo and Albania stand side by side on this path.

"All the European officials, whom I am meeting myself, are saying that Albania is the second in line for membership in the European Union. This is a very great achievement, Mr. Minister. I congratulate you too, because for many years you have been in the capital of the European Union and you have done the job as best you can. In these last steps, we are confident that Albania will be a member of the European Union within two or three years," said Konjufca.

Regarding the joint meeting of the two governments, Konjufca said that it was planned to be held in June, but was postponed due to the elections.

It has been more than 3 years since such a meeting was held.

Acting President Albulena Haxhiu, after the meeting with Hoxha, said that they discussed relations between Kosovo and Albania, the European path, regional security, and the importance of close coordination in foreign policy.

"Kosovo and Albania have strong reasons to walk side by side, with mutual trust and responsibility towards our common future," Haxhiu wrote.

The acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, expressed his honor to have welcomed, as he said, "in a fraternal meeting the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, Ferit Hoxha."

"Relations between Kosovo and Albania are excellent, they are relations between two states of the same nation. Therefore, coordination and cooperation are not a choice but a national duty. In addition to bilateral relations, we talked with Minister Hoxha about regional and international cooperation, as well as the Euro-Atlantic integration of our countries," Kurti wrote after the meeting.

The Foreign Minister of Albania was also received by the leader of the PDK, Bedri Hamza, who highly praised Minister Hoxha's commitment to supporting Kosovo in the international arena.

"We discussed political developments in Kosovo, the upcoming elections and the importance of the country having stable, functional institutions focused on the interests of its citizens. Minister Hoxha has always been a 'diplomat of Kosovo', in every position he has served and in every international forum he has spoken," Hamza wrote.

Ferit Hoxha, since March 6, 2026, holds the position of Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania.
