Teachers demand the signing of the Collective Agreement and salary increase

With the motto "Government, fulfill our demands, prevent other union actions!", hundreds of teachers have protested for not signing the Collective Contract and for the salary increase. Chief trade unionist Rrahman Jasharaj complained about the lack of social dialogue with the Ministry and Minister Arbërie Nagavci emphasized that the protest is politically motivated on the eve of the electoral campaign.

Hundreds of teachers from many municipalities of Kosovo protested with the request to sign the Collective Contract.

With placards in their hands, they marched from the National Library in the direction of the Ministry of Education and then continued to the Government building.

Until the building of the Ministry of Education, the protesters expressed criticism of the heads of state.

The chief trade unionist Rrahman Jasharaj said that despite attempts to dialogue with the Ministry, this has not been achieved.

"In this protest, you are representing all employees in the education sector and we are here, after all the efforts for months for dialogue, when the Kurti Government and Minister Nagavci have continued the wrong approach. They tried to extinguish the SBASHK so that the voice of the educational workers is silenced and their legitimate demands are not heard, but the SBASHK cannot be extinguished", emphasized Jasharaj.

Teachers also had expectations for the fulfillment of demands, including salary increases.

"We are violated, we are abused precisely by the Ministry of Education and the Prime Minister, I don't know for what reason, but the demands of the past years have fallen on deaf ears, there has never been a dialogue about our demands", declared the teacher Naim The river

Minister Arbërie Nagavci said that the protest is politically motivated on the eve of the election campaign.

"Yesterday I met the leadership of SBASHK, cooperation has never been lacking, neither from my side, nor from the Ministry of Education. I also told Mr. Jashari yesterday that it is not that I did not expect such actions during campaigns, considering that always during campaigns, the SBASHK has such positions, which do not help either education or children ours", declared Nagavci.

Two years ago, the Ministry of Education severed the Collective Contract with SBASHK on the grounds that at the time it was signed, there was a lack of legitimacy of the minister.
