A day after being released from the hospital, the head of the Vetëvendosje Movement branch in Skenderaj, Hysni Mehani, has denied the claims of the mayor of Skenderaj, Sami Lushtaku, that the attack on him occurred because of labels such as: "Sami Serbia". He says that the case has to do with some documents that, according to him, prove misuse of millions in construction.

The claims of the mayor of Skenderaj, Sami Lushtaku, that the head of the Vetëvendosje Movement branch in Skenderaj, Hysni Mehani, was attacked because of the labeling as "Sami Serbia", are denied by Mehani himself.
A day after being released from the hospital, Mehani gives his version, saying that the attack occurred because of some documents that, according to him, are related to square meters of illegal construction, worth 13 million euros.

"The attack came about this email and these documents that are bonuses, are square meters of illegal construction that are worth around 13 million euros. So I was in the Municipality yesterday at 08:15 and if Mr. Lushtaku had anything to attack me... I was in the personnel office that is next to Mr. Lushtaku's office but it has nothing to do with him. When this email came, it was also because of complaints to the Agency for Information and Privacy that talk about misuse worth millions," Mehani emphasized.

He said that by hitting him in public, Lushtaku wanted to show the masses the pressure on those who oppose him.

"At 12:00, Mr. Lushtaku attacked me in the middle of the city. So, Mr. Lushtaku's intention was not physical violence, but violence to show the masses about the level of emancipation that should be for those who dare to oppose him," Mehani said.

He claims that he did not exchange a single word with Lushtaku.

"While we were talking to the MP, Fejza told me that she was seeing Sami Lushtaku and to avoid any chance of a word, I did not turn my head and continued the conversation about the issue they were discussing. In the last moments, I heard Mr. Lushtaku say "you said" but before he finished the sentence he hit me with his phone and other strong means, they started attacking like this... initially from Mr. Lushtaku, I tried to defend myself, then with a chair, also from Mr. Lushtaku and from his bodyguards," Mehani emphasized.
