The Specialized Prosecutor's Office has arrested the former mayor of Malisheva, Isni Kilaj, the former security adviser of former president Thaçi, Bashkim Smakaj, as well as the former KLA fighter, Fadil Fazliu. The house of the former deputy prime minister Hajredin Kuçi was raided. The SPS has said that today's action is related to the criminal offenses of obstructing the administration of justice. The action was opposed by OVL-KLA and the Democratic Party.

On Thursday, by order of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office, a wide action was undertaken in Kosovo, where arrests and raids were carried out in several houses of former members of the KLA.

During the action, the former mayor of Malisheva, Isni Kilaj, the former head of the KIA Bashkim Smakaj and the former member of the KLA, Fadil Faziu, were arrested.

This prosecutor's office based in The Hague has announced that the action is related to suspicions of criminal offenses against the administration of justice.

"The Office of the Specialized Prosecutor (SPO) is conducting ongoing operations in Kosovo in an investigative process that focuses on criminal offenses against the administration of justice. The operations of the SPO have been judicially authorized by the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo (DHSK) and have been supported by the European Union Mission for the Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX)", says the Special announcement, issued on Thursday.

Fahri Fazliu, the son of Fadil Fazliu, has said that his father will be sent to detention in The Hague.

"He is currently in the EULEX offices in Fushë-Kosovo and is expected to be sent to The Hague", Fazliu said.

And Fazli's lawyer, Skender Musa, expressed that while he was in EULEX, the ZPS officials told him that they did not foresee Fazli's interview, but sending him to The Hague.

"We have not been able to provide other information", he said.

Regarding his arrest, then the former advisor to the former president, Hashim Thaçi, for security, Bashkim Smakaj, and the former mayor of the Municipality of Malisheva, the leader of the KLA Veterans Organization, Faton Klinaku, has announced .

He said that the arrests made by the ZPS are enough to make a show.

"The Special Court is continuing the hunt against the KLA and freedom fighters. The news about the arrest of Isni Kilaj and Bashkim Smakaj was given in the media, but according to the information that is coming to me, Fadil Fazliu, the brother of the martyrs Fahri and Bahri Fazliu, has also been arrested", said Klinaku.

Isni Kilaj had a frozen indictment, but it has been changed and he is counted as a suspect.

At the houses of Smakaj and Fazli, the ZPS raided last year as well.

And from the early hours of Thursday morning until the evening, the ZPS investigators stayed at Hajredin Kuçi's house in Pristina, looking for evidence that could help them in their investigations regarding the intimidation of witnesses. or disclosure of information of protected witnesses.

The former advisers of former president Hashim Thaçi have also reacted, who connected the raid with revenge of the system of Specialized Chambers, since the day before Thaçi presented a remark in the Special Court to the question of a judge.

The PDK has also expressed concern regarding the developments related to the Special Court.

"The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) is following with concern the latest developments related to the actions of the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo.

The PDK emphasizes the importance of maintaining the highest standards of justice and impartiality, which are the cornerstone of the operation of any judicial institution, including the Specialized Chambers. We strongly believe that justice and impartiality are not only requirements, but necessary conditions for a fair and reliable process", says PDK's reaction.

In the press release, this party, which was once led by Hashim Thaçi and then by Kadri Veseli, both accused by the Special, also wrote that the last request presented by the defense of the four accused in the case the former leaders of the KLA General Staff are judged to have "raised serious concerns about unfair treatment" in this process.

A few days ago, the defense of the accused complained about the bias of the judging panel.
