Prime Minister Kurti wants to put pressure on Serbia to sign the agreements

Prime Minister Albin Kurti is staying in Vienna. On Monday, he participated in one of the discussion panels within the Economic Forum with the topic "Building economic cooperation in difficult times". He spoke about economic development in Kosovo and cooperation with Serbia. Among other things, he called for the Serbian side to be pressured to sign the agreements reached in Brussels and Ohrid this year.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti requested greater pressure on Serbia to sign the agreements reached on Monday.

While he was part of a discussion in Vienna, regarding the construction of economic cooperation in difficult times, Kurti said that Serbia's rejection of agreements has led to the escalation of the situation on the ground.

"We need more pressure on Belgrade to sign the agreement we agreed to. We also need integration in the European Union, because I don't think our region can be integrated outside the EU or without the EU. It should be towards the EU and with the EU. And the Berlin Process should be even deeper and intensified for this purpose, but again the signing of the de facto mutual recognition is the first and most important step", Kurti said.

Kosovo and Serbia accepted the Brussels Agreement on February 27 and then the Annex for its implementation on March 18 in Ohrid, but official Belgrade refused to sign these documents.

At the Vienna Economic Forum, Prime Minister Kurti said that the Berlin Process is the way forward to prepare the countries of the Western Balkans for integration into the European Union.

In Vienna, he also spoke about the economic development that, according to him, has been achieved during the government of 2 and a half years.

"We have had progress in terms of human rights, media freedom, the rule of law, the fight against corruption, and in this way our economy has grown, people have paid more taxes and contributed, because they have seen that there is no corruption in the government", emphasized Kurti.

At the Forum, Prime Minister Albin Kurti invited the participating countries and beyond to invest in Kosovo, while calling on the EU to include the railway that will connect Pristina with Durrës in the trans-European network.

Kurti will stay in Austria on Tuesday, when he is expected to meet representatives of private companies from the energy sector.
