After Faruk Mujka's attack on KTV and the author of the "Konfront" show, Mimoza Koprani-Muçaj, the KOHA Group has warned of a lawsuit against him. Editor-in-Chief Brikenda Rexhepi has said that the attack on television is unacceptable. The attack has also been condemned by organizations for the protection of journalists and members of civil society
The KOHA group has condemned the attack that the chief executive of the company "Ibër-Lepenci", Faruk Mujka, made against KTV and the author of the show "Konfront", Mimoza Koprani-Muçaj.
While the interview on KTV with the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, was broadcast on Wednesday night, the official of the ruling party criticized the questions posed by Koprani-Muçaj, comparing KTV and the author of this medium with the media of controlled by Russia, "Sputnik" and "Russia Today".
Questions about the cost of repairing the "Ibër-Lepenci" canal and its credibility have hindered Mujka.
The editor-in-chief of the KOHA Group, Brikenda Rexhepi, said that the attack on KTV is unacceptable.
"There are no questions that are not asked in TIME and there are no facts that are not published in TIME. We have reported about Mr. Mujka earlier that he was the deputy mayor of the Municipality, then his employment in the company, his arrest, the house raid, we have reported all this. What he did last night is unacceptable and of course we condemn it", said Rexhepi.
She has called on all persons who have facts or information about misuse in public institutions to turn to KOĖA.
"We, as TIME, have constantly reported, not only this case every time, about such abuses, and now I take the opportunity to invite all those who have information, evidence of abuses of public officials, of power to contact us, we are very interested, as always, in revealing the truth to the opinion, our public", said Rexhepi.
For this attack, the KOHA Group has warned that the head of the company "Ibër-Lepenci", Faruk Mujka, will face justice.
"Mujka's reaction is not an accident, but a consequence and a phenomenon. It is a disaster, apart from a violation, that such party officials who are suspected of corruption land in public positions. Mujka does not care about moral integrity or the truth. The 'aqueduct' of the response to TIME is the attempt to wash ashore. But Ibri and Lepenci do not wash images. Mujka will face justice again. This time as a misuser of free speech", says Koha's response to the LVV official.
Organizations for the protection of journalists, as well as members of civil society, have also reacted against Mujka.
"AGK condemns Faruk Mujka's lynching language against KTV journalist Mimoza Koprani-Muçaj. AGK considers that this language is unacceptable and very dangerous towards the journalist and the medium where she works. Mujka and other public officials must face all the questions they raise for the public interest and stop using derogatory language", says the reaction of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo.
The Network of Women Journalists of Kosovo has also responded.
"These kinds of threats, especially against women journalists, are always loaded with sexist overtones and are intended to intimidate and discourage our colleagues from exercising their profession", the reaction states.
KOHA last year reported how Faruk Mujka illegally received an annual gross salary of nearly 40 thousand euros for the two official positions he held, that of the chief executive officer of the "Ibër-Lepenci" enterprise, as well as that of the assemblyman in the Municipal Assembly in the Municipality of South Mitrovica.
The same year, Mujka together with Hysen Muzliukajn, the advisor to the Minister of Agriculture, Faton Peci, were arrested on suspicion of abuse of office while they were in leadership positions in the Municipality of Mitrovica.
The Special Prosecutor's Office announced that after raiding two properties of the suspects, they found and seized 60 euros.
