Hungary fully supports Kosovo's aspiration for European integration, Hungarian President Tamas Sulyok declared on Tuesday after meeting with Kosovo's President, Vjosa Osmani. During her visit to Hungary, Osmani expressed her readiness to open new chapters of cooperation with the Hungarian state.

President Vjosa Osmani met on Tuesday with her Hungarian counterpart, Tamas Sulyok, during her visit to Hungary.

Osmani was welcomed in Budapest with a military ceremony, while in the bilateral meeting with President Sulyok, he said that they discussed relations between the two countries and the advancement of cooperation.

"Today, in a meeting with the Hungarian President, Tamás Sulyok, we discussed the deepening of the partnership between our two countries. The potential for further growth of Kosovo-Hungary cooperation is great and our country remains committed to opening new chapters in our relations. At the meeting, I expressed to President Sulyok the gratitude of the citizens of Kosovo for the role of Hungary within KFOR, for the support given to Kosovo students over the years, as well as for the initiatives that our two countries have offered even more," Osmani wrote on social networks after the meeting.

And the Hungarian president has declared that he supports Kosovo's aspiration for European integration.

"In our meeting, we agreed that relations between Hungary and Kosovo are characterized by mutual respect and trust. We must further strengthen this precious foundation, therefore we aim for a sustainable and cooperative partnership in economic issues such as education or family policies. In this spirit, Hungary fully supports Kosovo's aspiration for European integration," Sulyok said.

During her visit to Hungary, President Osmani will also meet with the Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament, representatives of chambers of commerce, and will deliver a lecture at the Hungarian University.
