Hajdari: The indictment is political, it affirms the political tendency of the Prosecution against the Kurti Government

The acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, has qualified the indictment that the Special Prosecution has filed against her and two officials of this ministry in the state reserve case as politically motivated. She called the prosecution's claims unfounded, saying that the evidence was collected illegally. She also exempted the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, from responsibility.

The acting Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, qualified as entirely political the indictment that the Special Prosecution Office filed against her and two officials of the ministry she heads regarding the state reserve issue.

She, along with Irfan Lipovica, Hafiz Gara and Ridvan Muharremi, are accused of damaging the state budget by around 3 million euros, related to the contracting of the state reserve in 2022.

In a press conference on Friday, Hajdari said that none of the Special Prosecution's claims stand and that the indictment affirms the political tendency of this prosecution towards the Kurti Government.

"The prosecution decides to pursue me politically to fight the Government, which does not allow him and his boss Blerim Isuaj to advance in positions to continue acting to the detriment of the state and for different interests, not ignoring those of Serbia, as in the case when they canceled the arrest warrant against Milan Radojčić," Hajdari said.

Regarding the evidence of the Special Prosecution, Hajdari said that it was collected illegally.

"Any other claim is a politically expedient assertion that is impermissible and immoral considering the period we were in in February and March 2022. All so-called evidence from the Prosecution was collected illegally through investigators who implemented the order of Prosecutor Valdet Gashi who sent them to MINT without a security certificate," said the acting minister.

And regarding the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, she emphasized that he had nothing to do with this case.

"Kurti has only one connection with the government college that has approved our legitimate request under the law in force to be removed from public procurement procedures, because we failed three times. This is the only legal intervention by the government," she added.

After the indictment was filed, Hajdari said he would not resign from his position.

The indictment charges him and two ministry officials with abusing their official duties for financial gain for other persons and causing damage to the budget of around three million euros.

The indictment also states that Hajdari was aware that the price of wheat imported from a Turkish company was about 200 euros more expensive per ton, but despite this it was decided to continue at a higher price.
