Serbian women and girls protest against "Kurti's inhuman behavior"

Through a protest, Serbian women and girls in North Mitrovica have opposed the decision of the Government of Kosovo to convert illegal license plates issued by Serbia.

In the protest called by Lista Serbe, they qualified the action of the Government as inhumane behavior of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, towards the Serbs.

And in the march along the town square, they were joined by other citizens from Graçanica.

The Mayor of Graçanica Municipality, Lilana Shubariq, told the protesters that the rally proves the unity of Kosovo Serbs.

"We Serbs from central Kosovo offer full support to our brothers and sisters in the north. We have never been more united in the face of all challenges, and if this cruelty continues, I want to warn the relevant factors that we Serbs in the south know what we have to do", Shubariq emphasized.

There were also protests in the Municipality of Shtërpce on Wednesday. During them, the Mayor of the Municipality, Dalibor Jevtiq, expressed his commitment that the Serbs will no longer allow any form of violence against them.

"I call on all those who are responsible for security and freedom to do their job and influence those who make unilateral decisions today in Pristina, not to do so. The municipality of Shtërpce went through the worst form of repression for nothing. They closed the doors of the temporary bodies and are still keeping our brothers in custody, trying in different ways, sowing fear to make us leave these areas", stated Jevtiq.

In addition to Wednesday's rally, the Serbian citizens of the north have warned of other protests in all institutions of Kosovo, from which they have decided to withdraw at the beginning of November, as a sign of dissatisfaction with the Government's decision to convert license plates from illegal Serbian in RKS.
