Two trucks burn in the north, the police suspect deliberate arson

Two trucks and a car were burned on Tuesday in the early hours of the morning in North Mitrovica. The police have announced that first there was molotov shooting and then two trucks were set on fire. The police initiated the case as intentional arson, until they announced that EULEX is also involved in this case.

Tuesday morning in North Mitrovica dawned with the marks left by the fire on two trucks of an Albanian company.

Before setting fire to two trucks that are used for the needs of a food warehouse, according to the Kosovo Police, there were also Molotov cocktails.

The Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police, Veton Elshani, has told KOHË that the case was initiated as "deliberate arson".

According to Elshan, in addition to the two trucks, a car that was parked nearby was also damaged by the fire.
He announced that there were no injuries from the fire and that the authorities are dealing with the case.
Regarding the case, they say that they are also informed in the Office of the European Union in Kosovo.

Spokesperson Ioanna Lachana said that the case is also being monitored by EULEX
"We are aware that the Kosovo Police is currently investigating the case mentioned in your email and we expect the relevant institutions to shed light on this case. EULEX is closely monitoring the case, as well as the general security situation. Since very few details are currently available, we prefer not to speculate about the possibility of other incidents," said Lachana.
The burning of two trucks on Tuesday was preceded by a series of similar cases in the first half of this year.

In June, two cars were burned in Mitrovica, and in April another one that was owned by a member of the border police.

In March, fire was also set on the restaurant of the former vice-mayor of Zveçan, Natasha Tomanić, as well as another object owned by Nenad Radosavlević, former director of the Administration in Leposaviq.

Likewise, earlier there were many burnings of cars, whose owners had chosen to convert their registration plates, from illegal Serbian ones, to RKS.
