"Factory to the workers" triumphs at "DokuFest"

The story of the factory for the production of work tools, revealed in the documentary "Factory to the workers", directed by Croatian Sërgjan Kovačević, has triumphed at "DokuFest". It won the main prize and the one for the best documentary in the "Balkan Dox" category. There were 109 films from 58 countries that were shown in 8 competition categories. On Saturday night at "Kino Lumbardhi" the awards of the 21st edition were distributed.

The documentary by the Croatian director, Sërgjan Kovačević, where the will of the workers to keep a socialist factory alive, has won the main prize at "DokuFest".

He also won in the "Balkan Dox" category.

The story that unfolds together with everything that comes to the surface goes well with this year's theme of the International Documentary and Short Film Festival "DokuFest", "How to survive?".

At the award ceremony on Saturday night at "Kino Lumbardh", director Kovačević said that this award is very important to him.

In the outdoor environment of the most special cinema, not only in the country, the awarding ceremony has also started.

But the guests had to go inside because of the rain.

The festival, which has already become an extraordinary promoter of cinematography in Kosovo, has chosen to reward survival narratives as its central theme this year.

The distribution award was given to the film "Shpija", the audience award went to "Love, Deutschmarks & Death", the national category award was given to "Ka me kalu", directed by Flonja Kodheli.

The best international short film was awarded to "Will my parents come to see me".

In the "Green Dox" category, "Foragers" won, in "Human Rights Dox" "Myanmar Diaries" triumphed, and in "Truth Dox" the jury evaluated the documentary "The killing of a journalist".

For a short documentary, the award has been given to the "Haulout" project.

The executive director of "DokuFest" Eroll Bilibani described this year's edition as magical.

Topic "How to survive?" this year it was not only a question-topic about survival against climatic conditions, war, violence, fascism and existence. There were also questions about the survival of the Festival in the face of support from the institutions.
