The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, has said that the decision on the properties around Deçan Monastery was a difficult decision, but that this shows Kosovo's determination for the rule of law.

Konjufca met the chairman of the Committee for Political Affairs and Democracy of the Assembly of the Council of Europe, who is also an MP, as well as a member of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of France, Bertrand Bouyx, with whom he also spoke about this decision.

They discussed the March 27 vote, where the report was approved recommending that the Republic of Kosovo should be invited to become a member state in the Council of Europe. Bouyx expressed support for Kosovo's membership, being optimistic that this process will end successfully.

Konjufca has added that membership in the Council of Europe will be the beginning of engagement in the field of democratic values ​​and human rights, it was said in the communiqué forwarded by the Speaker's Office.
