Albanian actor and director Enver Petrovci has died. 

His death was announced by the National Theater of Kosovo.

According to the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Kosovo, published by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo, Petrovci was born in 1954 in Pristina, where he completed primary school and high school. 

He graduated from the Higher Pedagogical School in Pristina (1972) and the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade (1978). 

With the plays "The Courtship" and "The Marriage" by AP Chekhov, as a student, he participated in all festivals of the former Yugoslavia, as well as in several international festivals. After graduation, he worked at the Yugoslav Drama Theater.

At "Atele 212" he played the main role in the play "Kosančič's Crown". 

After this performance, in the 80s he was mainly engaged in leading theatre roles. As the crisis in the former Yugoslavia deepened, he left Belgrade and played in the plays “Confiteori”, “Procesi” and “Nastasja Filipovna” in Pristina. 

Meanwhile, he was engaged in several important theaters, such as in Dubrovnik, Subotica, Novi Sad, etc. 

In the early 90s, he was elected a lecturer in acting and diction at the Faculty of Arts in Pristina. 

In the years 1990–1993 he was the founder and director of the “Dodona” Theater in Prishtina. After leaving his job at the “Dodona” Theater, in 1994 he founded the first private acting school “Actor's Studio” in Prishtina.

Later, in the post-war years, from this studio he founded the Academy of Arts and then the theater house "Father's Theater". 

He played a large number of theatrical roles and in dozens of films, series and television dramas, mostly in leading roles. 

The plays "Who's to Blame Me for Being Albanian" and "The Cursed", in which he is the author, director and actor, were the first plays to be performed at the "Dodona" Theater and the National Theater of Kosovo immediately after the war in Kosovo. 

Among the main roles in films and television series, "When Spring Is Late" (1980), "The Proud Pain" (1990) and "Guardians of the Mist" (1988) would be highlighted.

He was awarded many prizes both in the most prestigious theater festivals of the former Yugoslavia and in those in Kosovo, before and after the war (1999), of which the following are worth mentioning: first prize at the "Aleksandër Moisiu" National Festival in Tirana (1993), best actor at the Kosovo Film Festival (2003 and 2004), best leading actor at the Kosovo Theatre Festival (2007) and best actor at the Tirana International Film Festival (2010). 

In addition to his artistic activity, he also worked as a lecturer in the acting department of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pristina.
