The well-known Albanian actor, Valter Gjoni, has lost the battle after being infected with COVID-19 at the age of 66.
This news was made public by the head of the municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj. He writes that Gjoni served Tirana for 4 decades, while now he has left a great void among his family and thousands of colleagues and friends.
"Our soft-spoken and white-hearted Valter could not defeat this treacherous flag. He served our city with love every day for 4 decades, leaving today an inconsolable void for his family and thousands of colleagues and friends who knew and loved him as the historical memory of Tirana", writes Veliaj.
Valter Gjoni was born on October 4, 1954 in Tirana, he was educated at the pre-university level, in Tirana. In 1978, he completed his university studies at the Academy of Arts in the field of dramatic art, and in this year he began his professional activity as an actor and director in the Army Artistic Troupe, at the People's Theater (National), at the "New Albania" cinema studio and Albanian Radio Television. In his artistic biography, he has 60 roles in theater and pop, 8 roles in cinematography, he has made 5 documentary films, etc.
At the same time, Valter Gjoni was nominated in several international organizations. Gjoni is the author of many cultural, artistic, problematic, informative and historical articles in newspapers, magazines, television shows and special publications, reports TCH.
