Tedi Papavrami returns to Tirana with a concert

The well-known Albanian violinist, Tedi Papavrami, will return to the Opera and Ballet Theater in Tirana with a concert. Under the organization of the "Harabel Contemporary Art" art center, Papavrami will perform together with his wife, the Japanese pianist, Maki Okada.

Papavram's career is that of an instrumentalist who, as a young man, had the opportunity to leave the monist state to study abroad. It was 1982. Albania was isolated from the rest of the world. The French flutist, Alain Marion, who had gone to give a concert in Tirana and heard Papavram play as a child, had managed to arrange for him to go to Paris on a scholarship from the French government. Papavrami went on to study with Pierre Amoyal at the "Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique" he also appeared on popular television programs and gave many concerts at that time.

After finishing his studies at the end of fifteen, Papavram continued to perfect his instrumental and musical skills. Meanwhile, he and his parents had stayed in France. However, the regime punished those family members who had stayed behind with severe sanctions and reprisals that would remain in place until the government finally fell in 1991. However, before this event, Papavram and his parents had to leave Paris. , in order to avoid the officials of the Albanian embassy who were not allocated.

In 1985 he won the "Rodolfo Lipitzer" competition in Gorizia, in 1986 he unanimously won the "First Prize of the Conservatory of Paris, in 1987 he received the diploma of the Conservatory of Lausanne. He has continuously won awards and has performed with prestigious orchestras from different countries of the world.

While Maki Okada has completed his studies at Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, and then in France. The connections created during this time with France and Europe marked her musical development, now in the repertoire for violin and piano where she focuses with her husband Tedi Papavrami. Together in 2018, they received the "Barocsaal" award in Kyoto, for the best concert of the season.
