Today in Pristina, the novel with Albanian motifs "Kusari", by the author from Qatar, is being promoted

At 12 o'clock, in the premises of the National Library, there will be a promotion of the novel "Kusari" by the writer from Qatar, Abdulazis Al Mahmud, which is based on Albanian motifs. The promotion of this novel, which became a bestseller, and which experienced seven reprints and was also translated into English, is done in collaboration with the Institute for Oriental Studies (ISO) in Pristina. It was translated into Albanian by Ejup Ramadani, while "Buzuku" published it, writes Koha.net.

On the occasion of the promotion of this novel, the author Abdulazis Al Mahmud will be present today in Pristina.

"Kusari" was the first Arabic novel that has an Albanian theme. It is motivated by the events of the XNUMXth century in the Gulf countries, including the war of Mehmet Ali's Albanian soldiers against the Wahhabist movement in Arabia.

Author Abdulaziz Al Mahmud first appeared in journalism, until he became the editor-in-chief of the oldest Arabic newspaper in Qatar (al-Arab). As editor-in-chief, he showed interest in the Independence of Kosovo in 2008 and dedicated two supplements of the newspaper to this historical event. In fact, he came to Kosovo in June 2008 and conducted an exclusive interview with the then president, Fatmir Sejdiu, which was the first for the Arab press. Later, A. Al Mahmut devoted himself to literature by publishing "Kusarin" in 2011 and the novel "The Holy Veil" in 2016, etc., for which he received the State Prize for Literature in 2019.
