"United for animals" /"Suffering is not art" /"Leave the baglat!" /"S. Xhafa, you have little understanding"
Through a reflection, Sislej Xhafa reacted to those who protested against him weeks ago, for the alleged mistreatment of animals.
We are publishing it in full, as he sent it to our editors.
Understanding?
For who?

For the cows? For you? For you?
Art is not understanding. Even art does not require understanding; he wouldn't have to ask for understanding. Art cannot be thought through the framework of understanding. Understanding corrupts art. Whereas, the role of art is to corrupt understanding. The very fact that you have sought understanding from me means that my art has corrupted you. You are the corrupt subjects of my art. Therefore, I rejoice in this fact. Even the cows feast from this corruption of some subjects from my art. The cows and I celebrate. We enjoy it.
Baglat?
Fabrizio de Andre, one of the most popular Italian singer-songwriters, sang: "Nothing comes from diamonds, flowers come from bagels". Did you understand? From the cow's udders was born an artistic creation, and as a result, a corrupt subject. That's why I appreciate bagels. After all, who am I not to appreciate bagels? No one. For the Kosovar (micro)bourgeoisie, bagla represents the face of the lizard. Those who live from baglas. And not from diamonds. Those who are despised by the (micro)bourgeoisie. Baglat in my art is a form of solidarity with the face of Kosovo. Therefore, as would be chanted in Albania in the sixties: "Long live the baglats!" Hm, maybe that will be the title of the next performance!
Suffering is not art?
Oh, how pointless. How stale! Moralizing! You have not yet understood that art, apart from requiring no understanding, still less requires morality. Morality rests with moralizers. Like you. Suffering is not art!! Theodor Adorno wrote: "One of the conditions of truth is to allow suffering to speak." And suffering spoke. He spoke through moralizers who asked for understanding. The moralizing subjects who sought understanding from my art were not only corrupted, but managed to give voice to suffering. Face masks of Kosovo. Victims of consumerism. Victims of the bourgeoisie. Victims of the state apparatus. Victims of mosquitoes. Victims of the show. Oh, the spectacle! This opium is meant to identify subjects with comfort and pleasure with survival.
