One of the figures of the film and theater world in Albania, the actor Pandi Siku has died at the age of 73. He has left behind a rich legacy of roles in various films and theater plays.
Those who knew and worked with him called him the movie guy. Some of his close friends had given him the nickname Pançe. But the commonality of the relations between the two parties was that Pandi Siku remained a representative figure of Albanian cinematography and theater.
The news about the death of the actor, who has been living in the United States since 2001, was given by his daughter.
"On August 16, 2022, my father, Pandi Siku, became an angel in heaven! I love you so much!", she wrote on social networks.
Known mainly for playing secondary roles, Siku started his journey with art during his studies, having graduated from the Department of Drama at the High Institute of Arts in Tirana, while in 1973 he joined the People's Theater troupe, now known like the National Theatre. Meanwhile, he had his first film role as a 22-year-old, in the film "When it dawned on a day", directed by Piro Milkani, in which he played the role of Hamalli. He had the most active period in acting from this time until the time when he was separated due to migration, where he died.

However, his artistic activity is divided into two parts, the theater and film. Pandi Siku has given life to many roles in the theater, Adlin in "Dead River", Halim in "After the last exam", Arjan in "The life of another", Shpendi in "Epoka before the trial", Rrema in "Communists". , Valentine in "Two Gentlemen from Verona".
Siku has also left his mark in many films by playing roles in "Brazdat", "Njeriu me ball", "A difficult journey", "When the foundations were laid", "The guest", "Blue field, red field", "Time does not wait", "Waxed shirts", "Hope", "Three people cross the mountain" and "White sheets".
The National Cinematographic Center has remembered Siku through his roles.
"Pandi Siku has had a long career with prominent roles as an actor in cinematography and theater", wrote KKK.
On the other hand, it was his friends and colleagues who expressed their condolences to the family and shared memories with Siku through social networks. The director of one of the radio personalities in Albania, Xhelil Aliu, described his friend as one of the successful screen actors.
"You made us very sad, dear Pandi, our classmate of 4 years, where we prepared and took the paths of life. You were on the stage of the People's Theatre, while I was lucky enough to have you as one of the permanent actors in the radio dramatizations", wrote Aliu.
On the other hand, the actor Leka Sefla described him as a good friend.
"The talented actor of the National Theatre, the 'eternal boy', as we all called him, passed away today after a serious illness," wrote Sefla.
